Dezeen Showroom:Â Shanghai-based studio Tongqi Lu Design has launched Citron, a temper lamp that resembles a lemon.
Citron by Tongqi Lu Design is meant to evoke the soothing picture of “a chunk of citrus fruit falling to earth”.
The glass lampshade is solid in wax, giving it a gently bumped texture paying homage to lemon peel.
When switched off, the lamp is translucent, reflecting mild within the room. When switched on, it has a heat, incandescent glow.
It sits on a metallic plate, whose stark sturdiness contrasts with the shade’s natural kind.
The plate is curved, which means its shiny floor captures and displays the glow from the sunshine.
Citron was created throughout the coronavirus pandemic by Tongqi, who can also be the founding father of homeware model Tickle Quo.
