Spicy Glazed Salmon with a Candy Twist

Spicy, sweet, and barely tangy glazed salmon with broccoli is one of my favorite ways to prepare and serve fish. This dish features one delightfully simple sauce that performs double duty as both a marinade for the fish and a flavor booster for the fresh broccoli, making it a perfect option for a quick yet satisfying meal.

Deliciously Glazed Salmon Recipe to Impress Everyone

This keeper recipe is sure to make both adults and children happy, even if some kids might initially turn their noses up at the broccoli. They simply don’t realize the incredible flavors they’re missing out on!

This fuss-free broiler method is perfect for busy weeknights when I don’t have much time to prepare dinner. The glaze on the salmon effectively balances out the “fishy” taste that many of us find less appealing. It ensures that the dish remains flavorful and enjoyable for everyone.

What I love most is that I can utilize the same sauce for both the fish and the vegetables, which minimizes prep time and the number of dishes to wash afterward! Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes in the recipe according to your preferred level of spiciness, making it customizable for your taste.

This recipe is a definite hit with both salmon enthusiasts and those who might be skeptical about fish dishes!

Creating the Perfect Salmon Glaze for Maximum Flavor

Baking salmon in the oven results in a deliciously tender filet that is bursting with flavor. It really doesn’t have to be more complicated than that for an excellent outcome!

This baked salmon recipe is as simple as mixing together a few key ingredients to create a sauce, spooning it over a fresh salmon filet, and allowing the whole thing to cook in the broiler. In my sauce, I used olive oil, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and Peach jam to create a glaze that is equal parts sweet, savory, and tangy with just the right amount of heat to tantalize your taste buds.

You can use store-bought peach jam for this recipe, but if you happen to have homemade peach jam on hand, it will work wonders in enhancing the flavors in this dish as well!

Essential Ingredients for the Perfect Glazed Salmon

To make this family-friendly glazed salmon recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Salmon fillets
  • Fresh broccoli
  • Light olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Rice wine vinegar
  • Fresh garlic
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Peach jam

Creating the Sweet and Spicy Salmon Sensation

Begin by heating the broiler with the rack positioned in the center. In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, combine the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, pepper, and jam. Set this mixture aside for later use.

Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it with oil. Place the salmon on the baking sheet, and then spoon about half of the sauce mixture over the top of the fish.

Broil the salmon just until it barely flakes apart with a fork, which should take around 10 minutes.

While the fish is cooking, steam the broccoli in the microwave or on the stove-top. Remove it when it is still crisp-tender, which typically takes about 4 minutes. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the broccoli, tossing gently to coat it evenly.
