Breaking information: Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, who designed a whole lot of tasks together with skyscrapers 432 Park Avenue and the Walkie Talkie, has handed away aged 78.
Viñoly handed away early in the present day in New York Metropolis, in response to an announcement made by Elisa Carrió, an Argentine politician and good friend of Viñoly’s.
The information was reported in Latin American Information.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, he studied on the College of Buenos Aires earlier than co-founding his first studio Estudio de Arquitectura Manteola-Petchersky-Sánchez Gómez-Santos-Solsona-Viñoly in 1964. The studio would go on to be one of many largest in South America.
In 1978 he relocated to America and established his studio Rafael Viñoly Architects shortly after, which now has workplaces within the US, UK, UAE and Argentina.Â
His studio was accountable for designing quite a few buildings throughout the globe together with the super-skinny 432 Park Avenue skyscraper in New York.
Within the UK he designed 20 Fenchurch Avenue in London, which is broadly generally known as the Walkie Talkie because of its form, together with the masterplan for Battersea Energy Station and the Firstsite visible arts centre in Colchester.
